What is Tarot Mindfulness Meditation?

Mindfulness Meditation is the habit of deliberately focusing your thoughts on the moment in front of you and accepting the moment and your thoughts without judgment.

The benefits of Mindfulness Meditation is being studied scientifically. The studies are exploring how meditation may reduce stress and increase overall happiness.

Mindfulness Meditation finds its roots in Buddhism. Most religions have a type of prayer or meditation that helps you focus on the moment and let go of distractions of the world around you. Being able to see the “Now” allows us to appreciate the more significant aspects of our lives and to see those aspects that we may miss.

How do you combine Tarot and Mindfulness Meditation(TMM)? I’ll be starting a series of videos on Instagram and YouTube beginning May 26th, 2020, revealing how I do my Tarot Mindfulness Mediations. The videos will come out on Tuesdays and Fridays I’ll also announce when I will be doing live videos on Instagram and YouTube. You can look for those to start May 19th, 2020.

Here is a quick overview of how I do my TMM readings.

I start by preparing myself for meditation by drinking water. Some people eat a light snack, and others rely on just water. I like crackers.

Then I find a quiet and comfortable place. I sometimes sit on the floor, but most often, a comfy chair best for relaxing.

Meditation opens many people up in ways that they might find unexpected. Set your mind with the intention that you are in a protected and safe environment. Say a prayer, visualize yourself surrounded with white light as with any form of meditation, you should always do what works best for you.

Prepare your Tarot Cards as you feel comfortable. Some people bless them; others spread them out, and some do nothing more than taking them out of their box. No matter what you do, do what works for you.

Breathe

Now for part, I always find hard. Taking time to focus on my breathing. I have trouble remembering to breathe naturally. I often find myself being distracted by things around me. It is essential to develop the skill of observing your breathing. Listen to it; go In and Out. Out and In. Each breath is a “Now.” I find it helps me to count to five then breathe in. Try holding it for a few seconds, if you can count to five and then begin to release the breath. Don’t rush it; allow it to exit your body naturally. Do this breathing exercise for a few minutes until you feel relaxed.

If you are ready and feel relaxed, comfortable, and focused on the now, you can spread or layout your cards.

I suggest not drawing more than three cards when using the Tarot for Mindfulness Mediation. Pulling more can cause you to lose focus. To start with, I’d suggest just one card. The goal is to develop the skill that allows you to see the “No” Yes, it is a skill. Like many skills, we build muscle memory so that our skills can become a natural process. You cant run a marathon without walking a few steps.

Look carefully at the card, but don’t get lost in it. Take time to notice the small details. Calmly without rushing yourself look for things you might not have seen before. Look at the colors, symbols, shapes, expressions, and body posture. What is taking place, is something being said, what is in the background?

Slowly without rushing, try to take in everything. How does what you see relate to you? Are some of these things speaking to you?

If you are distracted, do the breathing exercise again. The breathing exercise can help you if you have gotten lost a bit.

Now, look at the card again. Change where you are looking, focus on a different section of the card. Is there a section that is speaking to you?

Allow the card to fade into your sounding. Let the card become a mental doorway. Use it to walk, thought your thoughts, and see the “Now.” You may feel like you are getting sucked in by the card itself, if this is the case, slowly bring yourself back and take a moment to breathe in and breathe out, a few times. Then go back to the card.

Reflecting on my thoughts and what I’ve seen in the cards can be difficult. You might also find this true. The experiences of the card, be they pleasant or unpleasant, are a form of communication. Many, including myself, feel that the messages, thoughts, and feelings I receive from using my Tarot cards to meditate come from my subconscious and the universal energies around me.

When you are ready to exit the meditation, do the breathing exercise; use it as a way to bring yourself back; to reconnect with your daily life.

I’m not great at writing down what I’ve experienced in a journal, but you might want to try it. Instead, I like to turn on my computer and record what I experienced, my impressions, everything I can remember. By doing a sound or video recording, I can hear the tone of my voice, the inflections, and how fast I am talking. If I do a video, I see my facial expressions. I find it best to do this very soon after meditating. The experiences of what I have seen, felt and heard are fresher.

Journal your experiences.

Use your journal as a way to help you see incoming experiences. The journal is a way to refer back to your meditation experience. Often you will see connections within a day or two of your meditation. Use these experiences to continue to nurture your understanding of the Tarot and yourself. If you have time, journal about these connections and encounters.

Set aside time to review your journaling, meditations, and your experiences. You’ll become more understanding and connection to the way the world expresses energies and how those work and how they manifest in our daily life. Observations can inspire deep confidence in yourself, and you will find that your intuitive abilities are more apparent, enhancing your experience considerably.

I am here to help you if you need it.

This technique may sound simple enough for most people to try; the information and impressions that come from these meditation experiences may seem to be contradictory.

As a professional card reader and intuitive, who is skilled in the Tarot, I can be a great source. I can help clear up confusion, especially if you are finding the concepts of the Tarot complicated, and for some, they may feel scary.

I’m happy to make time for a consultation and to work with you on your mediations and readings. If you have issues understanding your Tarot Meditations or feeling overwhelmed, it is essential to get helpful tips and suggestions right away.

If you feel that you are off-center in your observations, which understandably brings confusion, talking with me is a way to help you find the center again, a helping had to walk with you in understanding your experiences. Suddenly you may feel like you are being placed back on the center. Now you have a clear viewpoint.

A Tarot deck provides an individual experience. Each card is unique; using the cards together means that the energies of cards are shared and create new energy.

Think of the cards as the pieces of a stained glasses window. Each piece is beautiful, but when the parts are combined, they are more appealing.

A Tarot deck can be a doorway to the energies of the universe. Which may seem like a lot to take on by yourself, which is why I’m here to be your guide.

I can help you use the Tarot to broaden your meditative journey. I am also here to help you open up to the possibilities along your spiritual path.

If you’d like to book an appointment, I’d love to work with you.

From a young age, I wasn't one to dive into the sports section of the paper – my heart was hooked on the mystical charm of horoscope pages. This early fascination set the stage for a life entwined with the enchanting world of Tarot, Astrology, Runes, Numerology, and other magical arts. These mystical paths didn't just pique my interest; they became the heartbeat of my professional journey and the secret sauce to truly relishing my work. After all, the ultimate gig is one that never really feels like work, right? I see life not as a rigid sculpture set in stone, but rather as a meandering stream, constantly shaped and reshaped by the forces of the future ahead and the past trailing behind. Each twist and turn, every ripple and wave in this stream, is a moment in our lives, offering a gentle push, a momentary pause, or a subtle direction change.
